Harry Potter and the One-Sided Relationship
Friday, June 30, 2006 Matthew Baldwin of Defective Yeti wrote about how he and a friend both have spouses suffering from Pottermainia, as is my girlfriend. I haven't read any of the books, but I have seen all of the movies. His post points out there are wikipedia entries for the books, so I may end up reading those, but, why learn the plot of a good movie before you see it? I was surprized to read Matt regarded Goblet of Fire as one of the worst books, since my experience is only the movie, which was pretty darn good (regarded by many, even Matt, as the best so far).
I know that, as the good boyfriend, I'll see each and every Harry Potter movie, probably on opening weekend, most likely on an IMAX screen (just like the last one). I'll walk amongst bouncing children excited to see the next installment, hand in hand with one bouncing adult, measuring the same level of excitment.
I've liked all the movies so far, so I'm not complaining. If anything, it's cute. And nothing makes me happier than to see her giddy like that. So in that regard, I'm looking forward to the next movie coming out, but forgive me if I could care less about the books.
(Baby, if you want the new book, we can get it this weekend.)
I will be bouncing around the theatre this weekend right before we see Superman Returns!!!

But I'm just as excited to be able to walk hand in hand with a bouncing, giddy Micah. ;)
