A quiet evening

When we pulled into the Ed Coy Parking garage on Hunter to visit my favorite Stockton Bar this time, no one was there. That is certainly an improvement on last week. The first thing I asked when I came in was what happened, and I was told he was fired.
I felt bad for a second... wait, no I didn’t. When I was told how the weeks previous he was basically extorting money out of Bradley’s to keep the parking lot open late, when he was supposed to anyway, I realized this kind of person digs their own holes, and deserved to be fired. So the parking problem for the theatre and Bradley’s is over, come on out this weekend.
Vanity and I ordered a beer, and a Shirley Temple (she agreed to drive tonight), and sat at the bar. Somehow the conversation started toward politics, immigration and minimum wage, between us and another guy. I recognize his face as being a regular from Bull ‘N Bear, but I don’t recall his name. I’m pretty sure he came into the conversation so he could start talking to Vanity (she’s gorgeous, without the attitude of most women with that kind of beauty). Since I hadn’t taken a seat yet, I took the closest one available. Conveniently between Vanity and that guy. Hehehehehe. Anyway, he seemed pretty smart, and made for good conversation.
We went outside, even though it was still pretty hot outside after 10:00 PM.
Bradley’s was a little slow that evening, I think we missed a larger crowd. No loud singing in the background, and Vanity and I had a nice chance to sit and talk with each other.
I hope this Friday will be more of a ‘party’. So come on down and say hi, we’ll be there.

Here's proof - I was so oblivious, I never thought for a moment that guy was trying to strike up a conversation with me because he thought I was good looking. I just thought he was nice (like I usually do).
